The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, as Amended, and the University policy regarding the release and disclosure of student information prohibit the University from disclosing to anyone but the student any records classified as confidential. Academic transcripts and final grades fall into this category. Exceptions may be made in emergency situations and in cases where the registrar receives prior written authorization from the student.
