Resource Guide > Parent Involvement >
Quick Reference: Parent Involvement The day students move into the residence halls is always an exciting one. Some like to arrive very early. Others prefer to let the initial rush subside and arrive later in the day. Whatever your student’s choice, housing staff will be available to help out. To avoid confusion and possible parking tickets, be sure to follow very carefully the move-in and parking instructions that are sent to your student. The first days following Move-In Day are known as Welcome Week. Special activities are planned throughout the week to help students get to know each other and the campus and become comfortable with the routine of campus life. These are important days for settling in, when students will be exploring their new environment with their peers. Parents should not expect to participate in these events.
