Dear Cal Parents,

Our last child is finishing her undergraduate work at Cal and we are reflecting on her experience. It isn't difficult to remember her CalSO orientation, her first move-in day, her first academic and personal challenges. It is also not difficult to see how she has learned to live and succeed in an urban academic setting that is rich and challenging. We are thoroughly satisfied with the opportunities she has had at Berkeley, and that is why we continue to share our enthusiasm with Cal Parents.

It is particularly exciting to meet current and prospective students and parents on Cal Day, which is coming April 17, soon after you receive this Letter Home. On Cal Day we get a chance to view Cal's opportunities all at one time, from lectures and panels to political groups and ROTC.

This year Cal Parents will welcome you at a larger hospitality space and hear your views and concerns for your students. We have found that visitors appreciate hearing from other parents and receiving direct communication from "someone who has been there." We hope you will come and meet the Cal Parents board of volunteer parents who look forward to seeing you.
