Cal Parents Web Site Ready to Roll

The Cal Parents web site has a new look at calparents.berkeley.edu

Summer 2005 | Berkeley has been hard at work on a spiffy redesign of the Cal Parents Web site, to be launched this summer.

Over the past several months, Public Affairs staff have met with parent volunteers to assess the needs of current and prospective families. Based on our findings, we have built a comprehensive parent portal. The new site is designed to help you find resources and support services that will assist your students, provide easy access to information, answer your questions, and give you an easy-to-navigate gateway to the entire campus.

The site features campus news and events; calendars (including one with important dates for parents); everything families need to plan a visit plus a new online tour that you can take from your armchair at home; academic, financial, and housing information; student services and opportunities; information about your students' health and safety; online, e-mail, and telephone helplines; links for students planning careers or seeking internships or jobs; and tips for ways in which you can be involved and make a difference!

Families of prospective students who are exploring college options will find a wealth of information about the university. They'll be especially interested in the new online virtual tour and the information about visiting campus, as well as links to course offerings, the admissions process, housing options and residence hall life, study abroad, student organizations, athletics, orientation, health care, and much more.

You also can access webcasts of current classes and campus events and check out the latest campus news. All of this will be live in August; just go to calparents.berkeley.edu to have UC Berkeley at your fingertips.
