New to Cal? Don't miss the following:
Start
It Off Right
Kick off your day at 8:30 a.m. with Chancellor Robert Birgeneau and other VIPs who will be on hand to welcome new students and families.
Take
a Tour
Campus tour guides take you around campus on foot or cable cars, pointing out sites along the way. Residence hall tours are also offered throughout the day.
Meet
the Faculty
Many faculty members will be available and eager to greet visitors, so you can get the answers to your questions.
Ask the
Experts
Cal students can give you the inside scoop on everything from academic planning to life in the residence halls. The “Cal 101” panel at 2:30 p.m. or “Bear Talk” at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. are where to go for their advice.
Just for Cal Parents: Kick up Your Feet
Join Cal Parents for an end-of-day gathering for snacks and conversation from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Alumni House.
For Everyone:
Hear
a Star
Berkeley’s stellar faculty are innovators in every field. New discoveries in space, you say? What can we learn on this 100th anniversary of the 1906 earthquake? Concerned about health and wellness? How will new discoveries in the biosciences affect you?
Do Something Different
See creepy bugs under a microscope. Enjoy a dance performance on the steps of Sproul Hall. Gaze into the future in Cal’s engineering labs. Watch athletic competitions.
Sneak a Peak
On Cal Day, visitors can get a look at labs, libraries, and museums not usually open to the public. Try the paleontology, vertebrate zoology, or music collections, for starters.
See Cal Athletes in Action
Cheer on the Bears as they take on Pac 10 rivals in baseball, softball, men’s tennis, and track & field. See our football team’s annual “Blue and Gold” spring scrimmage and our national champion rugby team in action.
