Cal Day engages all ages
Hear lectures from nationally-renowned faculty, take in a musical performance or two, watch Cal’s athletic teams play, tour the campus’s 1,200 acres, or discover the treasures of Berkeley’s libraries and museums, all on April 12

Spring 2008 | Nearly every day of the year, Berkeley is abuzz with research discoveries, adrenalin-charged sporting events, and dazzling performances. But in the spring, that buzz becomes a cacophony when the campus hosts its annual open house, Cal Day, which boasts a staggering 350 events in one day. Whether you’re a first-time or seasoned visitor, Saturday, April 12, is the perfect day to discover Cal. Cal Day attracts some 35,000 visitors annually and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an 8:30 a.m. greeting just for newly-admitted students and their families.
With participation from every corner of campus, the options for what to explore that day are dizzying. To guide you, a detailed online schedule will list the day’s myriad activities (see schedule beginning late March) and feature useful transportation and parking information. Admission is free.
